Process Five phases · written down

From conversation
to launch.

Every engagement runs through the same five phases, shared with the client in plain language before anyone signs anything. No surprises. No mystery deliverables.

01

Discovery

Conversation, not interrogation.

A real conversation about the business — what it sells, who it serves, where it is trying to grow, and what the current site or system is failing to do. The output is a short written brief that captures the engagement in one page, in plain language, before any design work begins.

Deliverables

  • One-page engagement brief
  • Goals and success criteria
  • Working timeline

Duration

1 week

02

Strategy

Decide the right thing to build.

Positioning, audience, and the core message of the work. Information architecture and sitemap. Content strategy and a writing plan. A reference set that establishes the visual direction. The output is a strategy document the design and build will be measured against — and it is the right time to course-correct.

Deliverables

  • Positioning + voice notes
  • Sitemap and IA
  • Content strategy
  • Visual reference set

Duration

1–2 weeks

03

Design

Editorial-grade design that earns its register.

Design proceeds in working files, not slide decks. We look at real type at real sizes, real photography, real copy. The studio designs in-browser whenever possible so we are deciding on what the final site will actually look and feel like — not a high-fidelity sketch.

Deliverables

  • Design system tokens
  • Key page designs
  • Component library
  • Live design reviews

Duration

2–4 weeks

04

Build

Hand-built. Performance-first. Made to age well.

Frontend built by the same hands that designed it, on a stack chosen for the engagement rather than for fashion. Accessibility, performance, and SEO are part of the build, not a punch list at the end. The site is reviewed in real conditions on real devices before launch.

Deliverables

  • Production frontend
  • CMS or content workflow
  • Analytics + OG image system
  • Pre-launch review

Duration

2–4 weeks

05

Launch

A clean handoff. A real plan for after.

Launch day is mostly quiet, because the work was done by then. The studio sets up the environment, monitors the first weeks, and hands over a plain-language manual for whoever is going to be the long-term steward — whether that is you, an internal team, or the studio under a small ongoing care arrangement.

Deliverables

  • Production launch
  • Owner manual
  • Two weeks of post-launch support
  • Optional ongoing care plan

Duration

1 week

After launch

The studio is still on the line.

Two weeks of post-launch support is included in every engagement. After that, an optional ongoing-care arrangement covers content updates, small feature work, and the kind of quiet maintenance that keeps a site feeling new for years rather than months.
