Project overview
An owner-run marine repair shop that does fiberglass, gelcoat, paint, and structural work on any kind of boat. The site follows how the business works: send a few photos, get an honest assessment, and get the boat back on the water.
The problem
An experienced, owner-run repair shop needed a site that sounded like the owner, showed real work, and made it easy to send photos for a quote.
Requirements
- The copy had to match the owner's plain-spoken voice.
- Before-and-after photos had to be the main way the site shows the quality of the work.
Approach
How I approached it
The brief was simple: a marine repair shop run by one owner with more than twenty years in the trade needed a site that sounds the way he talks. Plain-spoken and honest, with no sales padding.
I designed, wrote, and built the site. The homepage describes the shop the way you would to a neighbor, then covers each service in a short paragraph, shows a before-and-after gallery of real repairs, and lays out a five-step process. The phone number and contact details appear where visitors are most likely to decide to call.
This site is paired with JLangeArt: the same owner and two different businesses.
